Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. Cropping runs entirely in your browser via canvas — the image never leaves your device. You can verify it in the DevTools Network tab: no upload happens.

Can I crop to a circle or a square?

Yes. Pick the square (1:1) preset, or the circle mask which outputs a transparent PNG. Free-form and fixed ratios (16:9, 4:3) are also available.

Does the passport 2x2 preset make an official passport photo?

It crops your image to the 2x2 inch aspect and pixel size, but it does not check official requirements like background color or face position. Treat it as a size helper, not a compliance guarantee.

Which formats are supported?

JPG, PNG and WebP. The cropped file keeps its format where possible; circle crops are exported as PNG to preserve transparency.
