Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. The PDF is built entirely in your browser; your images never leave your device.

Which image formats are supported?

JPG and PNG are embedded directly into the PDF with no re-encoding, so the original quality is preserved exactly. WebP is also supported when your browser can decode it — it's converted to PNG first, which is a re-encode (we tell you instead of pretending it's lossless). HEIC, TIFF, GIF, BMP and AVIF aren't supported.

What controls the page order and image quality?

Pages follow the order of your images — reorder them before converting. JPG and PNG are placed into the PDF byte-for-byte, so there's no quality loss. With 'fit to image' the page matches each image's size; with A4 or Letter each image is scaled to fit the page while keeping its proportions.
