Privacy Policy
Last updated June 29, 2026
These tools are built privacy-first. The short version: your files are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to us. This page explains exactly what is and isn't collected.
Your files stay in your browser
When you use a tool to work with a file — a PDF, image, document or any other input — that processing runs entirely in your browser on your device. Your files are not uploaded to a server. We never receive, see, store or transmit the contents of your files.
Privacy-respecting analytics
We collect minimal, aggregated usage events — for example, which tool was opened and whether an action succeeded or failed. These events never include the contents of your files, your file names, or personal data, and they are not used to build a profile of you.
Cookies and advertising
We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. If advertising is introduced later to support the free tools, it will only run after you give explicit consent through a cookie banner, and this policy will be updated before that happens.
No account for basic tools
The free tools work without registration. We don't ask you to create an account or hand over personal details to use them.
Hosting and infrastructure
Like any website, our hosting and content-delivery providers process basic technical request data (such as IP address and browser type) to serve the pages and protect the site against abuse. This is standard server logging and does not include the contents of your files.
Who controls your data (GDPR)
Codegrain is run by Andrii Shaidiuk, who acts as the data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Because the tools run in your browser, we hold almost no personal data. The legal basis for the limited technical request data and aggregated analytics described above is our legitimate interest in keeping the site available, secure and working well. We do not sell personal data and do not use it to profile you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Because we don't collect personal data for the free tools, there is usually nothing personal to act on — but you can contact the data controller at any time using the details below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Romania this is the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP).
Contact
Codegrain is operated by Andrii Shaidiuk, an individual based in Romania (EU) and the data controller for any personal data described here. Questions about these pages, your data, or the tools can be sent by email — we're happy to help.
